We all know we need to build more homes. We have known it for years. Modern building regulations dictate that new homes have high insulation levels with low air leakage rates so they are thermally efficient and do not waste energy. A SMART Group system in turn reduces the amount of heating needed, and in some cases a new build home will only require half the amount of heat energy to keep it warm compared to the same sized house built 10 years ago.
At the same time, the demand for hot water production has remained roughly the same, meaning that the energy required to produce hot water for these new homes has become greater than the energy required for space heating. 

This is where an air source heat pump can be incredibly useful, offering the ideal solution for high hot water use with low heating requirements. Cold water is heated instantaneously to deliver piping hot water around the home, whenever the household needs it, to showers, bathrooms and taps.
